BELFAST — The sixth annual Belfast Garden Club Open Garden Days features 13 gardens in Belfast, Belmont, Searsport, Searsmont, Bayside and Northport. One garden per week will be open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays, through Aug. 26. Friday, July 29, will feature the Bennett & Whyte Gardens at 29 and 37 Bridge St. Tickets can be purchased at each garden on the day of the tour for a donation of $4 for one garden or $15 for a five-visit ticket. CAMDEN — Daylily Day with the Maine Daylily Society and Merryspring Nature Center, 9 a.m.-noon, Sunday, July 24, at Merryspring Nature Center, with a variety of events and workshops throughout the day. Suggested donation, $5 for those attending workshops will benefit Merryspring programs and the Maine Daylily Society. For information, call 236-2239 or visit merryspring.org.

CAMDEN — Annual Merryspring Kitchen Tour, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, featuring kitchens in the Camden-Rockport-Lincolnville area, and samples of cuisine from local chefs at every stop. All proceeds from this popular summertime event support Merryspring Nature Center and its year-round nature and environmental education programs. The tour is sponsored by EBS Style Solutions of Camden. Prepurchased tickets are $25 for the whole day. On the day of the tour, available for $30 at any of the kitchens, or at Merryspring Nature Center, Conway Road. Tickets for individual kitchens available for $10. ELLSWORTH — Learn gardening techniques and tricks of the trade from garden coordinator Jennifer Crain and help maintain Woodlawn Museum’s gardens, 8 a.m. Saturday, July 23, and 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Woodlawn Museum, Gardens & Park, Route 172. PRESQUE ISLE — Hands-on food preservation workshop covering water bath and pressure canning, freezing and drying, 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, and Thursday, Aug. 4, at University of Maine at Presque Isle Cooperative Extension.
