Warren ready to vote on new methadone ordinance

WARREN, Maine — Warren Selectmen voted Wednesday night to have a special town meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, to decide if the town should create a new ordinance regulating where methadone clinics, large professional offices and medical facilities can set up shop within the town’s lines.

The town will also vote on whether to raise $30,000 for anticipated legal fees.

A methadone clinic company is currently suing the town after it set up a moratorium on methadone clinics while officials worked out an ordinance to regulate them. The town is fighting the lawsuit.

The meeting will be at the Masonic Hall at 105 Camden Road in Warren.
