American Folk Festival sets acts

BANGOR — The American Folk Festival will celebrate 10 years of music, dance and culture from traditions across America and the world Friday through Sunday, Aug. 26-28, on the waterfront.

Performers will be:

• Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners, Friday and Saturday.

• Samba Ngo, Congolese, Friday through Sunday.

• Super Chikan, blues, Friday through Sunday.

• Eden Brent, Mississippi jazz, Saturday and Sunday.

• Rich in Tradition, bluegrass, Friday through Sunday.

• Hot Club of Cowtown, western swing, Friday and Saturday.

• Seamus Connolly & Friends, Irish song and dance, Friday through Sunday.

• ReVeillons! Quebecois, Friday through Sunday.

• The Brotherhood Singers, gospel, Saturday and Sunday.

• Pedrito Martinez, Latin dance, Saturday and Sunday.

• Zikrayat, Egyptian music and dance, Saturday and Sunday.

• Rhythms of Rajasthan, Rajasthani music and dance, Saturday and Sunday.

• Chuna McIntyre, Native American Yup’ik, Friday through Sunday.

• Stooges Brass Band, New Orleans Parade Band, Friday through Sunday.

• Los Tres Reyes, Mexican trio romantic, Saturday and Sunday.

• Bing Xia, Chinese Guzheng, Saturday and Sunday.

The American Folk Festival is produced by the Bangor Folk Festival in partnership with the city of Bangor, Eastern Maine Development Corp., Maine Discovery Museum and the Maine Folklife Center at the University of Maine.

The suggested donation is $10 a day.
