Family farm open in Windsor
WINDSOR, Maine — Emma’s Family Farm Open will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 135 Windsor Neck Road in Windsor. Bring your camera for an easy walking tour that offers sights for all generations. You will see various breeds of heritage turkeys, Pekin and Khaki Campbell ducks, Americana and Rhode Island Red laying hens and pullets, two varieties of meat chickens and chicks, pigs, beef cattle and guardian donkeys Ozzie and Molly. Ozzie loves children, Molly loves adults. Take this opportunity to see where the animals live, what they eat and how the farm helps them grow on their pastures. Red Cross to hold fundraiser in Caribou
CARIBOU, Maine — The Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross will be racing to save a life at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Spud Speedway in Caribou. The race is looking to the community for financial support. The Red Cross along with event sponsors will draw raffle items during the event which will feature two death-defying car crashes by Maine stunt driver Jim Moreau of Bangor.
