WESTBROOK — Sydney Adessi singled twice and doubled and Karli Theberge pitched four innings of hitless relief as Hermon rallied past Auburn Suburban 5-2 to advance to the championship round of the state Little League softball tournament for ages 11-12 Friday.
Allessa Oakes added two singles for Hermon, now 4-1 in the tournament, while Alexis MacManus singled and scored a run.
Olivia Jensen walked twice and scored both runs for 2-2 Auburn Suburban, while Jordan Reynolds singled.
Hermon is scheduled to play unbeaten Scarborough on Saturday, and must defeat Scarborough in that game as well as in an if-necessary game scheduled for Sunday afternoon to capture the state title.

At Ellsworth, Brandyn Findlay pitched a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts over four innings as Bucksport defeated Ellsworth to win the District 1 Little League all-star baseball title for ages 10-11.
Tanner Stegner tripled and singled for the winners, while Chase Carmichael and Kiegan Riccard each singled twice.
Max Delucca-Lowell singled for Ellsworth.

At Blue Hill, host Coastal erupted for 10 runs in the first inning en route to a five-inning victory over Calais.
Hayden Ciomei knocked in four runs with two singles for the winners (1-0) and Mariner Cheney poked a double and a single with two RBIs. Winning pitcher Loriman Looke and Connor Morey hit two singles each.
Cody Rohde paced Calais (0-1) with a two-run double and Scott Boies added a run-scoring double in their team’s five-run fourth inning.

At Bar Harbor, Colin Mooers hit a two-run triple to highlight a four-run rally in the top of the first inning that propelled the Acadians past Ellsworth in a five-inning contest.
Mooers added an RBI single later in the game in support of winning pitcher Ben Walls, who combined with Adam Gray to pitch a three-hitter.
Keegan McKim had three singles and an RBI for the Acadians, while Walls doubled and singled with an RBI, Trevor Alley singled twice with two RBIs and Steven Hanscom added an RBI triple.
Luke Wardell tripled and scored on Tyler Maguire’s single to supply Ellsworth’s lone run.

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Holbrook eliminated Lincoln 14-4 and Houlton ousted Hampden 13-4 to set up an elimination showdown game between the two winners on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Bangor will take on Hermon in the second game at 7 p.m.
In Friday’s first game, Joe Archambault tripled and drove in three runs and Logan Rogerson added three singles and an RBI to pace 2-1 Holbrook. Seth Pearson chipped in with three singles and Tom Burns had two singles and an RBI.
For 1-2 Lincoln, Kyler Peters hit a three-run, inside-the-park home run.
In the second game, Nick Botting doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs to lead 2-1 Houlton to victory. Kole Buzzeo chipped in with two singles and three RBIs, Parker Brewer had a double, single and two RBIs and Gage Hunt had two singles and two RBIs.
