Madison man loses part of arm in lawnmower accident

The Associated Press

MADISON, Maine — Police say a Madison man lost part of his left arm after apparently being run over by his lawn tractor.

Madison Police say Eugene St. Peter, who is thought to be in his late 60s, was hospitalized Wednesday. He was taken to a hospital in Skowhegan and then transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. His condition was not available.

The accident was reported at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday.

Police Cpl. Joe Mitchell said St. Peter somehow ended up on the ground and it appears the lawn mower ran over him.

Mitchell told the Morning Sentinel there were no witnesses to the accident so police won’t know what happened until they are able to talk to St. Peter.
