Maine Winter Sports Center names two coaches

Maine native Lauren Jacobs and former World Cup competitor Sarah Kamilewicz have been named to the coaching staff at the Maine Winter Sports Center in Aroostook County.

Jacobs, a recent graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, will be a coach in the MWSC’s Healthy Hometown programs and Kamilewicz, who competed for the U.S. National Biathlon team, will be a Development Coach in the MWSC’s competitive program.

Jacobs competed in Nordic skiing at Gould Academy in Bethel and Bates before coaching the sport at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington. She later competed in biathlon and Nordic racing for the Craftsbury Green Racing Project in Vermont.

Minnesota native Kamilewicz competed in high school skiing before attending the University of Minnesota-Duluth and competing for the U.S. Army’s biathlon program. She has nine years of World Cup experience.
