DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Cherryfield’s Andy Santerre has been named the top driver for the first 25 years of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (formerly Busch North Series).

Four Maine drivers were selected to the list. All 10 drivers are champions.

Ricky Craven of Newburgh, the 1991 champion, was selected fifth on the top-10 list. He holds the record for most wins in a season with 10 during his championship campaign. He also won two “combination” races with the Busch Series (now Nationwide Series), the only Busch North driver to accomplish the feat twice.

Santerre is the series’ only four-time champion (2002-2005) and ranks third in wins with 23. He retired after his fourth title and works as the competition director at Revolution Racing in the East Series.

Scarborough’s Kelly Moore, the series all-time wins leader and 1995 champion, was selected second. Kennebunkport’s Dick McCabe rounded out the top 10. He won back-to-back titles in 1992-93.

Brad Leighton of Center Harbor, N.H., was third followed by Jamie Aube (Manchester, N.H.), Craven, Mike Stefanik (Coventry, R.I.), Joey Logano (Middleton, Conn.), Ryan Truex (Mayetta, N.J.), Dale Shaw (Conway, N.H.) and McCabe.

The list was determined based on polling of select series media members in conjunction with NASCAR administration and members of competition and communication staffs.
