BANGOR, Maine — There was slight trouble in the skies above the Bangor area Monday afternoon as a US Airways flight out of Bangor International Airport was forced to turn around and land back in the Queen City.

US Airways Flight 4183, which departed Bangor for New York City’s LaGuardia International Airport at 3:20 p.m. Monday, reversed course because of engine problems roughly 15 to 20 minutes into the flight, according to airport spokesman Tony Caruso.

“The aircraft returned to Bangor and landed without incident,” Caruso said.

Monday’s flight, a regional jet that was carrying 30 passengers and three crew members, was met on the runway by airport rescue personnel, but no passengers or crew members required medical treatment, Caruso said.

Attempts to reach US Airways were unsuccessful Tuesday.
