Next Generation Theatre hard at work on ‘A Night on Broadway’

Children and teens attending Next Generation Theatre's summer session are hard at work on &quotA Night on Broadway." Forty students, ages 5-20, are rehearsing musical numbers and performances from Broadway shows such as “Into the Woods,” “The Sound of Music,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Cats,” “Hairspray,” “Rent” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” Each student will star in a solo or duet and back up fellow cast members in vignettes. The evening is directed and choreographed by Rachel Caron, with musical direction by Stephanie Colavito and Alek Sayers. Shows will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, July 14-16, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at 39 Center St. Tickets $7, $4 under age 19, free under age 2, at Between Friends gift shop or 989-7100. Advance reservations suggested.
