ORLAND — Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust’s annual meeting and a day of fun, 10 a.m. Sunday, July 10. Meet at Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery for a paddle or hike up the Dead River to watch wildlife and enjoy the scenery, stopping at Wildlands picnic point for light refreshments provided by the trust. Participants encouraged to bring a bag lunch and water. The annual meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn in Orland with a dessert potluck. WISCASSET — Chewonki Big Eddy and Kennebec Chapter of Trout Unlimited will offer introduction to fly fishing for ages 8 and up July 22-24. Sign up early, class size limited. Big Eddy is downstream from Ripogenus Dam and a landlocked salmon fishing destination. Chewonki offers range of camping options on 75-acre facility.
