By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

PALMYRA, Maine — A Washington state woman was injured late Friday afternoon when the SUV she was driving left the southbound traveling lanes of Interstate 95 and rolled over.

The woman, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield for treatment of leg injuries, Trooper Christopher Crawford of the Maine State Police said early Friday evening.

He said the woman, who is from Seattle, Wash., was expected to be released Friday night.

Crawford said the accident happened about 4:50 p.m. when the motorist lost control of her 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. He said she may have experienced a medical problem just before the crash and that the accident remained under investigation Friday night.

He said the driver was wearing a seat belt and that the SUV was demolished.
