BELFAST, Maine — The sixth annual Belfast Garden Club Open Garden Days features 13 gardens in Belfast, Belmont, Searsport, Searsmont, Bayside and Northport. One garden per week will be open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays, through Aug. 26. Tickets can be purchased at each garden on the day of the tour for a donation of $4 for one garden or $15 for a five-visit ticket. BLUE HILL, Maine — “Within the Garden Walls” garden tour, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, rain or shine. BUCKSPORT, Maine — Third annual Bucksport’s Abloom, Saturday, July 9. All-day event, kicking off with a presentation by Diane Bianco at 9:30 a.m. at the Alamo Theatre, an Art for the Day Gallery on Main Street featuring area artists and demonstrations; lunch on the waterfront by Macleod’s Restaurant noon-2 p.m.; a container gardening presentation by Sonia Cianchette of Through the Garden Gate at 12:30 p.m. on the waterfront; a flea market in theBangor Savings parking lot; specials at local merchants all day. All events are free and open to the public.

CAMDEN, Maine — Annual House and Garden Tour, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, July 21, rain or shine. Advance tickets on sale July 1-20 for $25 at Moose Crossing Garden Center in Waldoboro, Plants Unlimited in Rockport, Hoboken Gardens in Rockport, Surroundings in Camden, Whitehall Inn in Camden, Brambles in Belfast and Northern Kingdom Music in Camden. CHERRYFIELD, Maine — Fifth annual Historic House Tour presented by the Narraguagus Historical Society, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, July 16. ELLSWORTH, Maine — Backyard composting, 10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, July 9, at Woodlawn Museum, Route 172, in collaboration with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program. Master Gardener volunteers Jan and Tom McIntyre will cover the basic science behind successful composting and discuss how to build and manage a compost pile. Event is free, donations accepted.
