Bangor-based Cross Insurance has acquired another Massachusetts firm, the Thomas Gregory Associates Insurance Agency, the Maine company announced Thursday.
In March, Cross acquired Mazonson Insurance in Wakefield, Mass. to form Cross Insurance Wakefield. Thomas Gregory is also based in Wakefield, and the business will be added to Cross Insurance Wakefield. With the acquisition, Cross will have more than 50 employees in their Wakefield office.
“With (Thomas Gregory) being a family-owned business like Cross, combined with their strong presence not only in the Boston area, but nationwide, I’m confident the marriage of the two companies will be a success,” said Woodrow Cross, CEO of Cross Insurance.
Cross has more than 400 employees and is one of the largest insurance firms in New England, with 34 satellite offices, 14 of them in Maine.
