BREWER — Bangor-Brewer Athletic Club free family fun day at the gym featuring six new exercise classes, an obstacle course for children, adult workout challenges and a variety of family-fun activities, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at 34 Abbott St. (the former J.J. Nissen Bakery). Team Irish MMA Fitness Academy also is participating in the event, which is being held to raise money for the Brewer Parks and Rec Department day camp program. ELLSWORTH — Downeast Scenic Railroad, round-trip tour travels from Ellsworth on the historic Calais Branch Line to Ellsworth Falls and then to Washington Junction and back to Ellsworth. The 10-mile trip takes about 90 minutes. Trains will depart at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each weekend.
