OLD TOWN – Geraldine L. Haley, 92, died July 3, 2011, at a local nursing home. She was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Hermon, daughter of Edward H. and Dora (Banks) Pomeroy.
Geraldine graduated from Hermon High School. She enjoyed scrapbooking and completing the crossword puzzles in the Bangor Daily News.
Geraldine is survived by her son, Reginald Barnes and his wife, Carolyn, of Alton; two grandchildren, Douglas Barnes and his wife, Katrina, of Hampden, and Debaroh Dubay and her husband, Patrick, of Stillwater; five great-grandchildren, Kristina Dubay, Bryan Dubay, Emily Barnes, Patrick DeArmott and Nicholas DeArmott; four sisters, Beatrice Duplisea of Rhode Island, Arlene Brown of Bangor, Bernice Adams of Hermon and Eloise Grimes of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Arnold Barnes and Wallace Haley; a granddaughter, Susan Barnes; four sisters, Pearl Stevenson, Dorothea Leighton, Jennie Henderson and Marjorie Ireland; and two brothers, Donald Pomeroy and Wayne Pomeroy.
A memorial reception will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
