Two hurt in Levant ATV accident

By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

LEVANT, Maine — Two Bangor residents were injured Monday morning when the ATV they were riding left the edge of Robichaud Road while the driver was attempting to make a turn. The machine sank into a soft shoulder and tipped.

Both of the riders were thrown off the machine, with the driver hitting a tree, Deputy Ed Toulouse of the Penobscot Sheriff’s said. Toulouse said the driver, a 17-year-old male whose name was withheld because of his age, suffered cuts to his chest and abdomen.

His passenger, 34-year-old Jose Rivera, suffered broken collar bone and foot and ankle injuries, the deputy said.

Both were taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where they received treatment and then were released.
