CARMEL, Maine — The town’s animal control officer, Jean Taylor, was called to a Carmel residence Monday night to look into a report that a dog had bitten a 4-year-old girl in the face.

The incident was reported about 8:30 p.m., a Penobscot Regional Communications Center dispatcher confirmed.
