MACHIAS — Lanie Perry recorded all 12 outs on strikeouts and didn’t surrender a hit as Machias eliminated Calais 24-4 in four innings in a District 1 all-star softball game for ages 9-10 Saturday..
Machias will play Down East Family YMCA of Ellsworth for the championship at Machias on Tuesday at 5 p.m. If Machias wins, they’ll play again on Thursday. DEFY beat Machias 11-1 in the opener on June 28.
On Saturday, Perry hit an RBI single in the second and a two-run double in the fourth for 1-1 Machias. Lydia Sprague had two singles with an RBI while Brecken Barker and Perry each scored four runs.
Emily Mitchell and Brooke Russell both scored two runs for 0-2 Calais.

At Blue Hill, Coastal scored eight first-inning runs to take a commanding lead and eliminate Machias.
Ben Parker had a double, two singles and four RBIs to pace 3-1 Coastal. Caden Mattson added two doubles, two RBIs and scored four runs. Gavin Mote singled twice.
Jackson Scoville hit a double and two singles for 2-2 Machias. Zack Cox hit two singles and drove in two runs and Jordan Lobley also hit two singles.
