Saco man chosen to Tweet space shuttle launch

SACO, Maine — A local man hopes his behind-the-scene Tweeting of the final space shuttle launch next week will cultivate children’s interest in science.

Brent Danley, who owns a Web design company, and 149 other NASA Twitter followers were chosen at random to travel to Florida for the final launch of Atlantis next week. They’ll share their experiences with their more than 1.5 million combined followers in what organizers call a “Tweetup.” NASA isn’t paying for their travel, but is giving the group a tour of the launch pad a day before Friday’s mission and access to top administrators and astronauts.

Danley told the Portland Press Herald that he wants to share his outlook that life is about learning and discovery.
