MACHIAS – Alfred William Hanscom Jr., 67, died unexpectedly June 28, 2011, at his home. He was born in Bayonne, N.J., the son of Ann (Myers) and Alfred W. Hanscom Sr.

He was a hard worker, and had been working for the last

27 years at Cherryfield Foods. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann; five children, Veronica, Esther, Alfred, Katie and David; two grandchildren; special cousins, John, George and Margaret Gaddis, and Ruth Lubecker; and his canine companion, Keeko.

At his request, private services will be held at Jacksonville Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec.
