Singer-songwriter David Mallett to perform in Lee


LEE, Maine — Home on the Grange will host David Mallett at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 9, in Lee. Maine’s legendary singer-songwriter is most at home in venues like the old grange hall where the audience is close, the acoustics are good, and the feeling is comfortable.

July blood drives slated in Bangor, Orono

BANGOR, Maine — The American Red Cross, Northern New England Blood Services Region will hold blood drives in July at the following locations:

University of Maine, Orono, noon-5 p.m., July 5; Hollywood Slots, Bangor, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. July 11; Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 13; Friend & Friend, Orono, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. July 30.

Brewer summer special events lineup announced

BREWER, Maine — The Brewer Parks and Recreation Friday summer special event lineup will include “Life be in It” for those ages 5-12, July 15; Classic Day of Play, ages 6-13, July 22; Peaks Kenney State Park trip, ages 6-13, July 29 ;and the Luau & Beach Party, ages 6-13, Aug. 12.
