BANGOR, Maine — The Old Navy store at 480 Stillwater Ave. is holding a drive called “Operation Troop Donation” Friday through Monday that encourages patrons to drop off clothing and other goods to benefit members of the military.

In addition to items such as T-shirts, socks and flip-flops, patrons may donate unused personal care items or make cash donations. The goods will be collected by armed services volunteers at the store and then be sorted, packaged and shipped to troops by Operation: Care and Comfort.

“Operation Troop Donation” began in April 2009 in the San Francisco Bay area with a limited

numbers of stores participating and expanded last year to all Old Navy stores in the U.S.
