Girls State Governor

Rebecca Pelletier (center), who recently completed her junior year at Bangor High School, was elected governor of Dirigo Girls State on June 22 at Husson University. She is the fifth Bangor High student to be elected governor, the first being Ruth Lippman 65 years ago. One of two Maine delegates to Girls Nation this summer in Washington, Pelletier plans to attend St. Anselm College to study French and English. She’s thinking of joining the Peace Corps after college.
