RUMFORD, Maine — Police are investigating a possible drowning in Rumford.

Police say they found one person dead in a backyard pool on Tuesday morning after a family friend reported the possible drowning.

WMTW-TV reports that authorities believe the adult victim, whose name has not been released, was alone at the time.

An autopsy is expected performed to determine the cause of death.
