School reunion on tap in Belfast

BELFAST, Maine — All who attended the Crosby High School Reunion are invited to the annual reunion that will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Belfast Area High School.

The event will include a meal and a program, according to organizer Virgil Fowles, who emphasized that all former students and not just those who graduated from the school are welcome.

The cost to attend is $18, with proceeds benefiting scholarships for students at Waldo County Technical Center.

Searsport campground to hold ’50s, ’60s Weekend July 29-31

SEARSPORT, Maine — The second annual ‘50’s and ‘60’s Weekend will be held Friday-Sunday, July 29-31, at Searsport Shores Ocean Campground at 216 West Main St. in Searsport.

All are invited to the weekend event, which will feature an antique car show that starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday, live music, a horseshoe tournament at 11 a.m. Saturday, a lobster bake on the beach at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, a drive-in movie at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, and a hula-hoop contest on the beach at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Donations are accepted, and all proceeds will benefit Pine Tree Camp for Handicapped Children and Adults. For more information, call Searsport Shores at 548-6059.

Brooks Preservation Society to run ‘Pizza Train’

BELFAST, Maine — The Brooks Preservation Society will run its first “Pizza Train” from Upper Bridge station in Belfast to Waldo at 11 a.m. Saturday July 2. Regular runs will be at 2 p.m. July 2, and 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 3-4. For more information, visit http://www.brookspreservation.org.
