HERMON, Maine — A Hermon man was arrested on a gross sexual assault charge early Saturday morning in connection with an incident at a Bangor motel.
Drew Bower, 25, who was taken to Penobscot County Jail after his arrest, remained in custody late Tuesday night, a jail official confirmed.
Bower was arrested on the sex charge after police were called to a motel on outer Hammond Street, Bangor police Detective Sgt. Paul Kenison said Tuesday. Kenison said a clerk called police about 3:30 a.m. after a male guest reported what sounded to him like an assault.
The charge followed interviews with Bower and his alleged victim, a 21-year-old Bangor woman whose name was being withheld.
