July blood drives

The American Red Cross Northern New England Blood Services Region will hold blood drives in cities and towns throughout Maine. All eligible and new blood donors are encouraged to donate. Donors are needed every day to make sure there is an adequate blood supply for patients in need.

• July 9, Stockton Springs Elementary School, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

• July 22, Belfast Masonic Lodge, noon-6 p.m.

MS walk

BELFAST — The Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society announced recently that Belfast will join 12 other Maine communities in hosting an annual fundraising walk to support those in the region whose lives are affected by MS.

“In announcing the first annual Walk MS Belfast scheduled for Saturday, September 24, we welcome residents of the Belfast area to the Walk MS family,” said MS Society Development Coordinator Steve Faloon. “Funds raised through Walk MS Belfast will help provide programs, services and advocacy for the 3,000 people in Maine diagnosed with MS and their families.”

Volunteers are needed to serve on the Walk MS Belfast organizing committee. To get involved, call Steve Faloon at 907-4008 or email steve.faloon@nmss.org.

Health talk

ROCKLAND — Tiffany Walker  of Thomaston will give a health presentation on reiki at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Rockland Public Library. She will explain more about the process of reiki and answer questions. For more information, call the library at 594-0310. Admission is free.
