BANGOR, Maine — A local man walking home from work near the Bangor Mall reported to police that just after midnight Friday he was assaulted by three men who robbed him of his cash, Detective Sgt. Paul Kenison said Saturday.

The 21-year-old victim called police at 12:09 a.m. and reported that three men in a car stopped near where he was walking, jumped out and assaulted him, pushing him down to the ground, the sergeant said. The group then took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim was so shaken by the assault that he was unable to provide a description of the car or the attackers, saying only that the attackers were “three white males,” Kenison said.
