Big third inning propels Hermon softball all-stars past Lincoln

HERMON — Alex Allain hit a two-run double and Breanne Oakes followed with a run-scoring double to highlight a 10-run third inning that helped propel Hermon past Lincoln 16-12 in a darkness-shortened District 3, Ages 9-10 Little League Softball All-Star game.

Allain totaled two singles and a double for 1-0 Hermon. Kayla Gray hit three singles and drove in two runs and Oakes added a single.

Haley McLaughlin singled and drove in a run on a walk for 0-1 Lincoln. Kortney Thurlow and Mariah Smith also singled.

At Hermon, Allesa Oakes and Alexis MacManus combined to pitch a one-hit shutout through four innings as Hermon topped Lincoln.

Oakes struck out eight and walked one through three innings and MacManus had two strikeouts while allowing a walk and a hit for 1-0 Hermon.

Sydney Addessi led Hermon with four singles and two RBIs. MacManus had a double and two singles with two RBIs, Karli Theberge doubled and singled with two RBIs, Abby Hartsgrove doubled and singled with an RBI and Hailey Perry hit two singles and drove in two runs.

Emma Page singled in the fourth for 0-1 Lincoln.
