Husson SAT prep classes begin July 6

BANGOR, Maine — Maine Prep’s eight-session, sixteen-hour SAT prep course will begin from Wednesday, July 6, at the O’ Donnell Commons on the Husson University Campus, 1 College Circle in Bangor. Classes meet 6:30-8:30 p.m. every Wednesday until Aug. 24. Champion The Cure Challenge Seeks Volunteers

BREWER, Maine — Champion the Cure Challenge seeks volunteers for the 2011 challenge on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Lafayette Family Cancer Center at Eastern Maine Medical Center’s CancerCare of Maine in Brewer.

The event includes a 1K Family Fun Run; a 5K or 10K Run-Walk; a 25, 50, or 100-mile Bike Ride and a 50-mile Motorcycle Ride.

Volunteers are crucial to the success of this event, reports Elizabeth Martin of Healthcare Charities, and many volunteer positions are available including participant registration, children’s area, food service, water team and more.
