BELFAST, Maine — Using a tie-breaker, Rollie’s Bar and Grill was declared the winning team with a score of 62 in the 13th annual Belfast Rotary Club Golf Tournament. Also at 62 for the round was the team from Camden National Bank.
Members of the Rollie’s team were Ryan Otis, Charlie Pray, Cory Chase and Paul Schelble Jr. On the Camden National team were Paul Doody, Jean Brown, Frank Field and Ansel Orne.
Finishing third, also by winning a tie-breaker, was the team from Mathews Bros. with Scott, John and Jan Hawthorne and Jamie Place. They finished with a 64.
Named the lucky loser team, following the tie-breaker in a three-way competition, were Jeff Dutch, Amy Marnecheck and Barbara and Grayling Cunningham.
The longest drive winner for the ladies was Jean Brown, and Wayne Atherton took it for the men.
Closest-to-pin on number 3 was Marie Cates at 11 feet 10 inches; George Wheelwright was closest on number 9 at 1 foot 6 inches; Kevin Nickerson won on number 12 at 4 feet 9 inches and Howard Klewin was closest on number 18 at 4 feet 10 inches.
Proceeds from the golf tourney benefit the Belfast Rotary Club’s Scholarship Fund, which has awarded more than $320,000 in scholarships since 1993.
