BANGOR — Max Andrews allowed only four hits and struck out 11 to help Motor City beat Hampden 5-2 Tuesday night in American Legion baseball action at Husson University’s Winkin Complex.
Tyler Eddy hit a two-run double to highlight a four-run second inning for the 2-3 winners. He also tripled and scored two runs while Chris Hammond and Sean O’Donnell each added a single.
Evan Kingsbury also turned in a solid pitching effort for 3-1 Hampden as he scattered four hits and gave up two earned runs. Reid McGinley doubled, singled and scored a run, and Josiah Brazier and Derrick Bernosky each added a single.

At Calais, Tim Barnes pitched a complete game and helped his own cause with two singles, a double and two RBIs as Calais topped Penquis.
Tyler Varney hit two singles, a double and knocked in a run for the 2-2 Suns. Jeremy Beers hit a two-run home run while David Cropley and Bryce Colbeth hit two singles apiece.
Ryan Rebar led 0-4 Penquis with a double and a single. Brandon Spratt singled twice while David Lord hit a solo home run. Caleb Smith chipped in with an RBI double.

At Blue Hill, Logan McLaughlin hit two singles, a double and drove in a run as Lincoln edged the Trenton Acadians in eight innings.
Garen Manzo hit a double and a single for 3-1 Lincoln while Dustin Sawtelle added two singles.
Mike Crowley posted a triple and a single for the 0-5 Acadians. Nick Kane added a two-run single.

During this busy sports season, the BDN asks that managers and coaches for the home teams promptly report the games. Games can be reported starting at 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Games can not be reported on Saturday.

Coaches and managers are urged to provide details for both teams when reporting games. First names of players on both teams as well as statistics are needed. Those not providing full details for both teams run the risk of the games not being published in the paper.
