ELLSWORTH, Maine — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man in connection with several break-ins Monday at local businesses.

According to Lt. Harold Page of the Ellsworth Police Department, sometime during the night Monday someone broke into the Giant Sub and Blueberry Hill businesses on Route 3 and took an undisclosed amount of cash from both. Page said there also was an attempted break-in at the Hilltop Mobile station nearby.

Investigators Officer Bart Tokas and Detective Dottie Small were able to obtain some surveillance video from the Hilltop Mobile. As part of their investigation, Page said, they also checked the surveillance cameras at the Walmart store not far from the Giant Sub and Blueberry Hill shops where they got a good image of a man they want to question in connection with the break-ins.

The department has posted a short video on its Facebook site and is seeking help from the public in identifying him. Anyone with information can contact the department at 667-2168 or 669-6614.
