Holden bottle drive to benefit hemophilia alliance
HOLDEN, Maine — A bottle drive fundraiser has been organized to help Hemophilia Alliance of Maine from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 18, at the Squire in Holden. The local school district has donated a bus and the event is a ” Fill the Bus” bottle drive. The bottle drive is to benefit the alliance to provide more education and information in rural Maine for other families that are living with bleeding disorders. Old Town Rotary to hold charity auction
OLD TOWN, Maine — The Old Town Rotary Club’s fifth annual charity auction from 6:30 to 8 ;30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the black Bear Inn in Orono. The evening will start with dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. The celebrity auctioneer will be former Secretary of State Matt Dunlap. In addition to the live auction, there will be a silent auction, a variety of door prizes and a bingo-type card game.
The club expects to have about 75 auction items, including merchandise, handcrafted items, services and vacation and recreation opportunities. Proceeds will benefit Maine Youth Fish and Game Association and other Rotary charities.
