Orono teen to host benefit birthday party

By Meg Haskell, BDN Staff

ORONO, Maine — Thirteen years ago at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Alyssa Stubbs was born. Her birth was not an easy one; she had to be resuscitated and then spent seven days in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.

To show her appreciation for the care she received, Alyssa will host her 13th birthday party from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Keith Anderson Community Center in Orono. The event is open to the public and will include dancing, games, face-painting, door prizes and a special singing performance by Alyssa.

In lieu of birthday gifts, guests may donate money or items for the neonatal intensive care unit.

For information, contact Alyssa’s mother, Nancy Stubbs at 944-0005.
