Anti-bullying event planned in Caribou

CARIBOU, Maine — An Anti-Bullying-Suicide Prevention two-day event will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 17-18, at the Spruce Haven on Doyle Road in Caribou. Tickets for the event are free but are required for pick-up at the following locations, Aroostook Bank of Micmacs, 7 Northern road and Micmac Service Unit, 8 Northern Road in Presque Isle.

Michaud representative to meet with constituents

MASARDIS, Maine — Congressman Mike Michaud’s district representative, Barbara Hayslett, will be available to meet with constituents from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 15, at the Masardis Town Office. Aroostook birding festival on tap

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Aroostook State Park Birding Festival will be held from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at 87 State Park Road in Presque Isle. The event is open to everyone who would like to learn more about birding through guided bird walks, activities, displays and demonstrations. Super Blood Drive at UMPI in July

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The American Red Cross and the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Residence Life Office are teaming up to pull off the University’s fourth “Super Blood Drive” this summer, the time of year when the need for blood increases. The Super Blood Drive will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, in Wieden Gymnasium on campus. The event is being sponsored by the University, UMPI’s Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and Presque Isle Pizza Hut, and cosponsored by Big Cheese, Country Farm’s Market, Freihofer’s Bakery, L.L. Caribou Public Library to host Reading Logs

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Public Library hosts Reading Logs beginning June 20 until July 29. Read to earn Pizza Hut personal pan pizza coupons. When you’ve read enough for a coupon, bring in the completed reading log, collect a coupon and get a new reading log.

Grade 5-8 book group will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Mondays, June 20-July 25. The grade 9-2  book group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays, June 20-July 18. For more information or to register, call 493-4214.
