Bangor man arrested on weapons charge, assault

A 22-year-old Bangor man was arrested Sunday evening after another male he had been walking with called police to report an assault.

Donald Galleck was charged with assault and carrying a concealed weapon in connection with the incident, Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan said Monday night.

According to a police report, the victim of the assault said Galleck hit him with brass knuckles while the two were walking on Union Street, Reagan said. Reagan said that when police officers located Galleck a short time later, he had the brass knuckles as well as two knives in his possession.

Galleck, who was taken to Penobscot County Jail after his arrest, since has been released on bail, a jail official said Monday night.
