MACHIAS, Maine — Maine State Police and the Machias Police Department both charged Michael Robinson, 22, of Machiasport, after two separate instances Saturday night.

Machias Police Officer Wade Walker was assisted by Maine State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Ingemi when a disorderly subject was reported at The Thirsty Moose bar in Machias.

Robinson was removed from the bar and transported to a family member’s residence in Machias, according to Machias Police Chief Grady Dwelley. About a half hour later, police were called back to the family’s residence, where Robinson was reportedly smashing out the home’s windows.

As police tried to subdue Robinson, he allegedly assaulted Walker and kicked Ingemi. Neither required medical treatment.

Robinson was arrested by Walker and charged with assault on an officer, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He also was issued a separate summons by Ingemi for assault on a police officer.

Robinson was taken to the Washington County Jail and later released on bail.
