BRADLEY, Maine — Fire investigators spent Monday going through debris on Pine Street at the site where a fire Sunday burned a two-unit apartment building.
Fire crews from four neighboring towns responded to the fire call. Bradley firefighters were assisted by crews from Eddington, Milford and Old Town. A neighbor called for help after seeing smoke coming from the eaves of the roof.
Local media reports said two birds were rescued from the fire, which destroyed the apartment building. No one was at home at the time of the fire.
Sgt. Tim York with the State Fire Marshal’s Office said Monday that fire investigators began to search for a cause, but were unable to finish their work.
“It very well could be tomorrow before we know anything” about what caused the fire, he said. “We’re running into problems finding tenants.”
