Propeller Club to hold meeting

BELFAST, Maine — The Propeller Club of the United States, Searsport-Bucksport Chapter, will hold their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Shriner’s Club in Belfast. Guest speakers will be Kevin Fish and James Sullivan of the Penobscot River Oil Pollution Abatement Committee. PROPAC’s mission is to provide timely response to any oil spill in the waters from Bangor to Searsport. The cost of the dinner is $25; reservations can be made by calling 548-1077.

Library summer reading program

BLUE HILL, Maine — The Blue Hill Public Library summer reading program, “One World, Many Stories” for children preschool to age 12. Children will explore places from Egypt to Japan through stories, crafts, music, dance and other activities. They will select their own books to read and keep track of how many they’ve read by recording them in their “passports.” Kids can sign up for “One World, Many Stories” at the library beginning June 20. Talk on Lyme disease prevention

BLUE HILL, Maine — Local homeopathic practitioner Edee Howland of Healing Resources of Maine and Bar Harbor author and artist Emily Bracale will discuss various ways to treat and prevent Lyme disease at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Blue Hill Public Library. Emily Bracale will also discuss her new book, Into the Lyme Light, a journey through her own experience with Lyme disease in words and art. For more information, call  374-5515.
