MILLSFIELD, N.H. — A 40-year-old New Hampshire man was injured after his ATV ran off a trail, struck a boulder and landed in a drainage ditch Saturday.
The state Fish and Game Department says William McKean of Henniker was thrown from the vehicle when it crashed at around 11:30 a.m. after he ran off the Kelsey Notch lookout trail in Millsfield.
State conservation officer Geoffrey Younglove says speed was apparently a factor in the crash.
McKean was treated at the scene and then taken to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for injuries to his chest, back and lower leg. Younglove says McKean’s injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.
