MILO, Maine — Municipal officials have received about 15 applications for the position of police chief, with more expected by the 5 p.m. June 17 deadline.
The vacancy occurred when Kenny Williams resigned from the position in May.
Town Manager Jeff Gahagan said this week that a selection committee would be appointed soon to start reviewing the applications. He said he hoped to have someone on board in the position by mid-July.
The town is served now by only one full-time officer, and he plans to enter the military this fall. Gahagan said the officer has been assisted by the town’s reserve officers and Brownville police.
