DWAYNE A. FOSTER

CARMEL – Dwayne A. Foster, 70, passed away June 6, 2011, surrounded by family and friends, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 11, 1941, in Mars Hill, son of Don F. Foster and Doris (Paget) Foster.

Dwayne graduated in 1959 from East Corinth Academy. He married Joan Coffin, in 1961 and they raised four children together. His life’s work as a salesman took him to Sullivan Ford, Varney Auto Parts, Steego Auto Parts, and most recently 14 years at Harvey Trailers. He was never without a story to tell, and never met a stranger. Dwayne was a kind man who would do anything he could for anyone. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, birding, jigsaw puzzles, and his family and friends.

Dwayne was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife of 40 years, Joan; and two sons, Peter and Timothy. He is survived by his brother, Dana Foster and wife, Janet, of Fargo, N.D.; one son, David Foster and wife, Julie, of Kenduskeag; daughter, Audrey Waterman and husband, Michael, of Northfield, Mass.; nephews, cousins, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his most favorite aunt, Audrey Paget Fletcher of Zephyrhills, Fla.; his loving companion for the last 10 years, Mary Lou Hargreaves; her children, JoAnna and Brad McNally and daughter, Jillian, of Brewer, Terrance and Kelly Hargreaves and family of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Tim and Julie Hargreaves and family of Austin, Texas; and his precious little dog, Murphy. A special thanks to each doctor and staff of the Eastern Maine Medical Center Intensive Care Unit for their exceptional care.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. June 11 at Kenduskeag Cemetery, Kenduskeag. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations to support a Maine student of need attending the University of Maine at Farmington may be sent to the D. L. Small Scholarship, UMF, 242 Main St., Farmington, ME 04938.
