Wrong-way driver from Ellsworth among those indicted by Hancock County grand jury

ELLSWORTH, Maine — An Ellsworth man who allegedly crashed his vehicle intentionally into another car in Ellsworth last November was indicted Thursday on multiple charges by a Hancock County grand jury.

Stanley W. Swallow, 27, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, operating under the influence and driving to endanger. The charges stem from an incident on Nov. 30, 2010, when Swallow allegedly drove a vehicle the wrong way down Route 3 past the Ellsworth Car Wash and struck a curb near the McDonald’s restaurant. The car spun around and skidded sideways into the intersection of routes 1and 3 where it struck another vehicle.

Swallow, who according to initial police reports was very intoxicated at the time and had threatened to kill himself, suffered a broken pelvis in the crash. Three people in the other vehicle also were injured in the accident.

The indictment on Swallow was among multiple indictments handed up by the grand jury on Thursday.  Also indicted were:

Rafael J. Brito, 24, Orono, aggravated trafficking in drugs, unlawful possession of drugs.

Devin W. Brown, 30, Baileyville, theft by unauthorized taking.

Brendon J. Bubar, 22, Winter Harbor, aggravated habitual offender, operating after revocation, driving to endanger, failure to stop for an officer.

Ashley M. Carney, 26, Sedgwick, two counts theft, violation of conditions of release.

Adrienne A. Carter,  23, Bass Harbor, trafficking in prison contraband, unlawful possession, violation of conditions of release.

Perry L. Cloak, 45, Trenton, unlawful trafficking in drugs, unlawful possession of drugs.

Michael E. Curry, 40, Bucksport, burglary, theft.

Merton P. Dube, 33, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., aggravated trafficking in drugs, illegal importation of drugs.

Brandy J. Freeman, 26, Bucksport, theft.

Ariel A. Hernandez, 22, Boston, Mass., unlawful trafficking in drugs, unlawful possession of drugs, failure to appear.

Amanda L. Holland, 26, Columbia Falls, unlawful possession of drugs, violation of conditions of release.

David A. Hudson, no age listed, Franklin, aggravated habitual offender, OAR, OUI.

Dawn A. Kennedy, 27, Ellsworth, burglary, theft, violation of conditions of release.

Brent S. Lockhart, 20, Hancock County Jail, two separate indictments on trafficking in prison contraband.

Erin L. McCarthy, 35, Bar Harbor, stealing drugs, unlawful possession of drugs.

Korrie J. McIntyre, 34, Roslindale, Mass., unlawful trafficking in drugs, unlawful possession of drugs, failure to appear.

James A. Melanson, 51, Bangor, theft.

Ernest E. Morse, 26, Lamoine, two counts assault.

Damian R. Pickard, 31, Lamoine, unlawful possession of drugs, OUI, violation of conditions of release.

Christopher R. Sullivan, 28, Southwest Harbor, burglary, violation of conditions of release, criminal mischief, assault.

Jessica R. Vachon, 25, Bangor, violation of conditions of release.
