BANGOR, Maine — Husson University has announced the restructuring of its Advancement Office.

“This reorganization begins to position the university’s Advancement Office appropriately to accommodate the needs of our growing, medium-sized private university,” Vice President for Advancement Thomas Martz said in a press release announcing the changes.

Julie Green, longtime spokeswoman for the school, has been promoted to director of Public Affairs and Government Relations. In her new role, Green will focus on government relations at the federal and state level, public affairs and crisis management.

She most recently served as Husson’s director of public affairs.

Amanda Kitchen has been promoted to serve as director of university communications. She will be responsible for implementing the university’s marketing and branding strategy, serve as the media spokeswoman and oversee university communications.

Kitchen has been employed by Husson for four years, most recently as director of advancement communications. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Husson in 2005.
