ORONO, Maine — The poetry editor of the Puckerbrush Review will lead a poetry workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 11, at the Orono Bog  Boardwalk.

Sandra Lynn Hutchison, a professor of English at the University of Maine, will walk the stations of boardwalk with participants, reading at each station sections from her long poem, “Bog Walk.” It was recently published in her book, “The Art of Nesting.”

The event, according to a University of Maine press release, is intended to be a celebration of poetry, an opportunity for meditation on the natural beauty of the Caribou Bog, and a tribute to all those who have made the landscape available to the public by maintaining the Orono Bog Boardwalk.

Workshop participants, who should meet at the cabin at the head of the boardwalk, will create their own poems as they walk the boardwalk. At the end of the walk, those poems will be woven together from sections of Hutchison’s “Bog Walk” to create a symphonic poem.
