CASTINE — Perch yourself on Guildive every Sunday and sail over to Holbrook Island Cove to admire the migrating birds. Each trip is guided with a naturalist who will lead us through sightings that may include bald eagles, osprey, cormorants and many others. Come to 15 Sea St., bring binoculars. Only available to 5 passengers each week. All trips include refreshments and return to Castine in time for lunch. Cost is $45 per person.

CASTINE — Guildive Cruises is offering sailing cruises from Castine to Searsport 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays, beginning June 13. Guildive will depart Castine, where we will sail to Searsport and allow passengers three hours to explore the historic maritime town. Each passage includes admission to the museum; bring a picnic lunch or eat at a restaurant and wander through the shops before boarding Guildive to sail home, arriving in Castine at 3 pm. HOLDEN — Learn how to forage for wild mushrooms with Greg Marley, founder of Mushrooms for Health, author of “Mushrooms for Health: Medicinal Secrets of Northeastern Fungi” and “Chanterelle Dreams, Amanita Nightmares: The Love Lore and Mystic of Mushrooms” at the Fields Pond Audubon Center Sunday, June 12. HOLDEN — Come for a moonlight canoe paddle on Fields Pond at the Audubon Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14. Cost is $5 per person with your own canoe or kayak; $10 per rental canoe with life jacket and paddles. Advance registration and payment necessary, call 989-2591. Float along the lake shore, as waning day becomes moonlit night. Trip will be canceled if there is heavy rain or thunder; payment will be refunded.

LUBEC — Downeast Coastal Conservancy invites you to a free bird walk at Mowry Beach at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 11. Join birder Jennifer Multhopp for a walk along DCC’s Mowry Beach and the boardwalk trail to encounter warblers, sparrows and other songsters, and perhaps some shorebirds as well. Bring binoculars. Two spotting scopes available. Meet at the parking lot end of Pleasant Street (adjacent to the water treatment plant) in Lubec.

OLD TOWN — Canoe and kayak races will be held on the Penobscot River near the Old Town Airport beginning with registration at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 11, during the Canoe Hullabaloo canoe and kayak race. Races will begin at 10 a.m. Preregistration is $16; cost is $18 on day of race and $15 for children 16 and younger and for those in the high school challenge. T-shirts for first 50 registrants. PRESQUE ISLE —The third annual Aroostook State Park Birding Festival will be 5 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, June 18.The festival offers guided bird walks, birding activities including bird banding, calling and carving demonstrations, live bird displays, a bird house building station and boat rides.The fee is $2 per adult.
