GUILFORD, Maine — A $6.77 million budget for SAD 4 was approved Thursday during a district budget meeting.

Thirty-one people approved the 2011-2012 spending plan to educate students from Guilford, Sangerville, Abbot, Parkman, Wellington and Cambridge.

While the budget reflects a reduction of $153,349 from the current year, the six towns will pay more in their local assessments to cover the costs.

Residents will have an opportunity to give final approval of the spending plan at a budget validation referendum vote to be held during polling hours in each town on June 14.
