Marine from Massachusetts killed in Afghanistan combat

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Military officials say a Marine corporal stationed at Camp Lejeune has been killed in combat in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense announced Wednesday that 23-year-old Cpl. William J. Woitowicz of Middlesex, Mass., died June 7 in Badghis province.  No additional details were available.

Woitowicz was assigned to 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, Marine Special Operations Regiment, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command at Camp Lejeune.
